Has anyone ever ordered from www.treasuregemsandcoins.com? I am new to rock tumbling and thought I would check them out first. They have unsearched emeralds, saphirre, and amathyst.

I don't remember that website ever being mentioned on here. I was just looking through their coins and I can tell ya that there's not any bargains in that section. Hmmmm, this wouldn't by any chance be "your" website would it? lol

No it is not my site. I am real new to lapidary and just ordered my first rock tumbler. I was looking for rough gems to put in it. I thought it would be fun to do the unsearched gems. Kind of like doing your own mining? I want to make my money count and if it is not a good site I will look else where. Any help would be appreciated. Amanda

Hi and welcome to the best tumbling board on the net. Try the rockshed .com they have all you need. Good luck and have fun with the hobby it will soon take over your life lol. George P.S. It would be better to start out with something like an agate or jasper than that mine run stuff they take to long as they are very hard and stubborn.

I was just pick'n on ya. Ditto on what ^he^ said, agates and jaspers tumble much better. What tumbler did you get? The rockshed is a great place for tumble rough. Also, you can get some good deals on mixed jasper and agate rough on ebay, the 20 pound lots seem like the way to go. The unsearched gems look more like faceting rough than tumbling rough. Anyhow, here's Shawns site, he's a great guy to deal with!! www.therockshed.com

Thanks so much. I have been out in our fields looking for some stuff to put in there. I found some really pretty white with green dots and some rose quartz. Hopefully, after time I will be able to know what is what!

I saw your reply on Jamie's post (desertdweller), she's a sweetheart of a person, I hope you do get one of her parcels. I've received a few boxes from her, I lost count. She always sends some awesome material. If you get one, be sure to post pics!

i was looking at that site to, i feel just as you do, its the closest thing to mining for me seeing as how i have no mines in my area(or state that i know of). i'm sure i'll order some emeralds from them and see what i get.

I bought some emeralds and a mixed gem bag from them. The emeralds look quite good, and the mixed gem bag seemed to be mainly emeralds and topazs, but all good quality :3 It's like treasure hunting with out the hunting.
