Wow, what a concept! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Hang on, I'll go count the coins in my change jar and see what I can come up with... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I saw that listed in the last issue of Rock & Gem as well. Sure does make you dream, huh.

Now that Bill Gates has "retired" maybe we could get him interested in our Hobby. We could let him be the first President of the RTH Clubhouse. For him, this really would be just pocket change!

Now that Bill Gates has "retired" maybe we could get him interested in our Hobby. We could let him be the first President of the RTH Clubhouse. For him, this really would be just pocket change! LB I'm going to pretend you didn't just say that. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) Just think about the possible consequences! ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) If Bill Gates got his hands on our hobby it wouldn't be long before all tumblers would be running the Windows LD (Lapidary Device) operating system. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) As soon as you buy your tumbler it would already be obsolete and you'd have to spend another $300 upgrading the RAM just so it would be able to run... only to find out after the fact that upgrading to the new service pack which isn't compatible with your chipset just rendered your machine a brick! ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) After you purchase a new machine and get it running it would only have software installed for tumbling one type of stone. If you want to tumble any material that is not in the in the machines driver database then you will have to purchase and install several additional applications for running different rock types and mixed loads. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) If you are "lucky" your machine might just randomly lock up on you and have to be restarted one or more times a day. In other cases you would lose all unsaved progress on your batches, forcing you to re-install everything from CD and start all over from the rough grind stage! ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) ...and what about tech support when something goes wrong? (note I said "when" not "if") Yah, good luck with that because unless you have an N-band wi-fi connection and are running the full registered version they will tell you they are unable to remotely diagnose the problem so you will have to send your machine to one of only three authorized service centers in the civilized world and to expect an 8-12 week delay in service due to "higher than expected volume". ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) If you ever do manage to complete a batch and try to export them to a useable format you may get this error message: "This feature is not support in this software version. You can purchase the full version for only $139.99 +tax." ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) It would be a nightmare I tell you, a NIGHTMARE! ;D
