This sounds so familiar. I got into this hobby thinking it would be cheap because I live in an area where rough material is easily collected. First it was a 6.5" trim saw then a 10 inch saw and 3 stage expando drum sander; then a grinder, a drill press and finally a tumbler. Now I want a large slab saw, Flat lap, and many more tumblers. Cheap hobby? Yeah right. I almost forgot all the belts blades and grits. I would like to blame somebody else too. John you can blame me!!

Well, the second 33B (barrels 4 and 5) arrived from Shawn yesterday. I still hadn't told the wife. So I opened it up, put the tumbler down the basement, and put the box in the garage. I felt kind of guilty that I hadn't told her yet.
She came home, and within ten minutes she came to me and said "You bought another rock tumbler?" The excuses started spilling out of me: I got a great deal! (partially true) I need it for your mother's christmas present! (true) It's so I can spend more time to improve the quality of my batches! (true but irrelevant)
She only asked me: is this it? if not, where does it end? So I promised that this was it.
And I mean it.
For now!

Last night, I said to my wife, in all seriousness: "I think I'm only one tumbler away from happiness." That tumbler would be a dual 6 lb. Lortone. That way I can really power through all the rough I am accumulating.
Do you see what you've done to me??!?!?

I emailed my wife, saying that I was thinking of buying the dual 6 lb. Lortone. I admitted that it was a bit over-the-top. Her reply: " But, you are well past that now. You might as well take it all the way. :-)"
Ain't she a peach? Where's that link to therockshed...

Saw,cabbing unit, wire wrapping, grander, drill, polishing kit,==== Ok I could be in trouble here!!! I already have us working on a large set-up of tumberling units being put together. There is a rock show/sale in T.C.,Mi this week-in. I have my Hubby, and, daughter, going there with me. If anyone from here is going also don't say anything to Jim. For that mater don't tell Lori anything (she might just let the info slip to Jim) I'm already pulling them down hill with me with the lake shore, rivers, streems, gravel pits, and about anywhere I can find stones/rocks. Anymore Jim finds trouble taking me 2 tracking without me yelling stop I saw a nice one;-))))

Oh PLEASE!!! Lets see I have 2- 2 barrel THumlers- PLUS 2 extra barrels for them Plus a 1 Barrel Thumlers (all 3 Lbers) Plus a 2 barrel CE PLUS a 12Lb Thumler- and I have enough Cabalas Credit Card Points to get another 2 barrel Thumlers- You want some REAL fun- get a nice big tumbler for doing your course in- It's a hoot to put 12 Lbs of rock and a full cup of grit (not to mention the 1/2 gallon of water) into a barrel and let it roll! Oh and don't get me started on rough- I counted Flat Rate boxes (that is how I store my rough) I have 19!!!! they each hold aprox 30 Lbs of rock- Plus I have aprox 75 lbs of slabs- and another 50 lbs of cut rough- Plus plus plus-- well you get the idea- it is a bad bad addiction- No real hope for a cure (except death)
