This is the result of our first batch of tumbled rocks. We used a double 3# barrel Lortone tumbler. Thanks for the great and thorough advice in these forums. I hope the photos work out. Agates and jaspers. The lower left jasper looks liverlike. Red polka dot and green jasper Agates and Jaspers. The agates look kind of "plume-ish" Some of these look like jaspers that have been shattered and backfilled with silicates.

I wish I could find rocks like that around here, lol. I picked up a bunch of odd looking rocks in Tx when I went to visit my brother and I have them in the tumbler now but the barrel got a hole poked in it (more like worn in it) so I have to wait until another barrel is free... Your collection looks great!

You just found those lying around, eh? I'm jealous! Some nice agates in there. Good job and thanks for posting the pics!

I had to walk a couple of miles worth of abandoned track but they weren't hard to spot. 90% of them are broken by some of the heavy track equipment so you can see what you're getting. Being already broken is also a downside since they have a lot of stress fractures.

Really nice batch. A ton of color variety. I have train tracks in our town but not the kind of rock found on your tracks. Like having a treasure chest in your back yard.
