Hello, My name is Amanda and I am from North Central Ohio. I live on a farm with my husband, 1 son, 4 cows, 4 chickens, 3 dogs and 3 cats. My grown daughter lives next door. I am new to rock tumbling myself but have always loved collecting pretty rocks. I think I inheritaed this passion from my late uncle. As a child I loved going to his basement where he was always tumbling rocks, making jewelry, miniature guns and arrow heads. He was a wonderful and patient man. He always had a little peridot for me every time I came to see him as it is my birthstone.
I hope to learn wonderful things here and maybe some day be able to create pretty things myself with my rocks. I am excited to learn how to tumble, and drill.
Well that is probably it, and it is nice meeting you.

Welcome onboard...this site is great for people like you. I started about 2 years...knowing little myself about rocks ;D ;D
and now I'm tumbling my 10th batch...
You will find a lot of helpful advice from everyone, and if you are interested there a lot of great activities to participate in. I started a slab traveling box a few weeks ago, and it has been traveling all over the US since...next time this starts watch for it...I think you will find it very cool.
Also there is a tumbling box going on right now... check out the general tumbling board.
Good luck and welcome.
Ozzy

With being new to this I don't have slabs to replace what I would take. It sounds like fun though. Maybe when I have stock I can participate.
