Really shiny. They look a lot like the rocks I find out here in the West Texas desert. Some even look like petwoods.

Gorgeous batch with a fine shine indeed! I'm a big fan of that badlands material. Variety seems unending and they do tumble up nice!.....Mel

It's wonderful stuff for tumbling with a lot of variety and yes, there's a bunch of wood in there.

I guess the message is "Badlands = Good Rocks!" Super tumble batch, and even more wonderful when you get to collect them yourself! Nice tumble Puppie, Enjoy that Agate... It looks delicious! The soft swirly patterns really do make for a beautiful stone. WTG! ;D Sparkles.

Thank you all so much for the compliments. Really and truly, I don't think you can beat Badlands rock for just good old tumbling. It's super hard, the rocks in the gravel beds are mostly river tumbled, and while there are some cracks and vugs overall it is really solid stuff. Practically foolproof tumbling rock as long as you take your time in rough grind to get a good shape and also more extended tumbling often brings out more pattern and color. I collected all of this as well as many, many other batches over the last few years and it was all easy and not very lengthy collecting. It's worth the trip.
