I was pretty inactive on the board during this summer. I did some lurking but didn't have enough time or energy to participate. Nothing special happened. Life only. Lots of work to do, some trips, home repairs, preparations for starting primary school of our older daughter...
But at least I gathered a lot of pictures to compensate.
Here are some of the pictures of our summer activities, but I'll post rock related pics too, and lots of them ;D.
Firstly our pics from vacation. We went on the Mt Divcibare only 130km away from Belgrade and spent 10 great days there, although we had only 5 sunny days.
Not Mt. Everest but we were proud to conquer a couple of mountain tops.
Climbed some trees
They quite enjoyed horseback riding.
There was an old abandoned magnezite mine we just had to visit.
Look dad - magnezite.
This was very regular situation.
My girls at rock hounding.
One day my older daughter and me went rockhounding alone and found some beautiful picture jaspers (I'll post pictures of slabs I cut out of them in Slabs and Saws Section). Stasha took this picture of me. Pretty good for seven years old.
Stasha's stash.
This is valley were Stasha and I were rockhounding.
This is actually several pictures stitched together. I don't have wide angle lens camera.
Finally some wind.
I also had some fieldwork trips:
My professor - Look, I smashed all of it with this little hammer. Brutal force.
I am not bad either. ;D
Along this road we found many quartz crystals but couldn't find where quartz originates from.
According to legend this is the place where our 14th century army was blessed just before the big battle against Ottoman Turks.
This church is also known by plum trees that grow in a round.
After getting back from our vacation we had to paint kids room, renovate our old wooden furniture, make some shelves, bench and a desk for our new scholar.
Two of them also wanted to participate.
Don't bother me. Can't you see I am working?
I am afraid of heights. I'll do the cleaning.
Scholar’s desk almost finished.
I was pretty proud with my carpenter skills. And more importantly kids liked it.
And to finish with couple kid pics that I find amusing.
Ballet school.
Dolls on the wall.
Don't worry - it's washable.
Thanks for looking.
