This is normal isn't it? To have a few rocks dopped and ready... in the "got to do quick group"? Ya'll do the same, right? Put a few aside, near the arbor, all set to do next? And some near done, and some half done? It's normal... ain't it? The ones in the pan up front are ready to go to polish, the ones in the pan behind I just brought out before I took the pic. They are the newest "have to do next" cabs The cup in the foreground is the one I'm working through now. Of course there is another group of "got to get to new week" dopped cab blanks. They are elsewhere. See, I'm not slacking...I've got a bunch of good intentions Tony

What, you have yours organized? My cut blanks are just piled near the grinder. My dopped preforms wait on the other side. I don't get many of the in betweens (not done with polish).

Nothing unusual about being organized. I don't dop and usually cab from preform to polish. I might be better stopping before the polish stage. My older eyes miss some of the scratches because of reflection of the water and inadequate lighting. I store my preforms in wooden cigar boxes. I have other cigar boxes for small slabs that I plan to use for preforms.

Tony, it's not normal. :oThe area must be clean and your slabs and cabs must be inspected by a qualified regulator. Hurry up before you receive a surprise visit. I will certainly help you as I'm qualified and wont tell . Just send me your cabs and I'll take care of everything ;D.

That part is normal, what's not normal is the amount of yogurt you eat!!!!! Good God man, you're going to turn into bacteria!!!!! If I get a chance I'll take a pic of the top of my grinder and the trays of pieces I have ready to go! Make your pics a little smaller width wise, I hate having to scroll across!

Yeah, that's kind of how I do it too. I like to work up my cabs in groups so I'm doing one phase at a time. Of course, that always leaves me with piles of partially completed stones on dops all over the place. Hope when I get everything moved into my Texas shop I'm able to find at least a few of those stones. Right now, part is in storage in Texas, part in my new shop and part still in boxes at this house. I may never find half my stuff ever again *L*....Mel

Thanks, guys, for making me feel a bit better about it all At least I was better until I found out the regulators are coming, and maybe my yogurt habit might be out of whack. Ed, my boy, you might need something to help you manage cross scrolling in your old age. YOu might want to try some nice yogurt MIght help flume the gravel from your workings too! thanks, Bacteria Boy

Ed's comment made me laugh too! ;D Tony...your new name will be...."Bacteria Boy" Sounds like a superhero cabber type guy that eats lots and lots of yogurt just for the sake of storing hundreds of cabs...in all different stages...and posts extra wide pictures so the people with 'scrolling across to read' disabilities will complain! ;D
After seeing your stuff Tony...I guess I need to work harder! Steve

I see you shop at Kroger or Fry's. Nice choice. As for the cabs...tell me your secret for keeping everything so clean and organized.

Yep! Kroger... and I can't see eating the healty yogurt. Give me that sugary corporate yogurt. The good for you food like stuff that is bad for you!! NOw, Steve you are obviously a discerning fellow, unlike Gravel Man, as you figured out I was buying the yogurt for the containers. It apparently didn't dawn on Ed I might be raising a herd of Active Culture Cats! I guess everyone doesn't have a two widescreen monitor set up. Sorry... when you get cable apparently you just post everything no matter how big and when you have widescreen big is Big I am shocked at the number of folks who are calling me clean and organized. I wish the ladies in my life had seen me in that light. I'd be a happy satyr now instead of Bacteria Boy! I think my organizing secret must be Yogurt!! Who knew

You guys are scaring me. I don't have a grinder yet and now I'm beginning to re-think that purchase.
I have enough trouble keeping my rough and tumbles organized!
