Wow - I love the first two especially. Beautiful colors! I'll jump on the bandwagon here - my recent (much smaller, much cheaper) eBay score: Nipomo Agate: S'posed to be about a 4" long slab - not bad for $5 I don't think. Hasn't arrived yet though. Nancy

That's an awesome slab Nancy, who's the seller? I'd like to see more ebay winnings if anyone else wants to post them

His name is "irontimm", Randy. I meant to say Nipomo Marcasite too - but I imagine everyone knows what I meant. LOL Funnily enough, Nipomo is just about 6-7 miles south of where I live but I understand wherever the marcasite in agate was found is now closed to collecting, so I was keen to skarf up a piece off eBay.
Are you going to slice up those pieces you won? Nancy

Isn't it funny how we "buy" something in a store but "win" it on eBay? My wife asked for some black tumbled rocks, so I picked up this black jasper. It's 8+ lbs. Hopefully it will shine up really nicely once I break it up:

Yes, that will shine up very nicely. (I've won three pieces of it so far) ;D

Those are nice pieces. really like the green quartz... Randy how cabbable is that calcite? I got some from around here and it's super, super soft.
AND like rose quartz if you expose it to light it fades to white (or very faded light orange)

Hi Tweetie, I know I'm not Randy but that calcite should work up fine, you just have to use the finer grit wheels. Its about like rhodochrosite, sp?

Some more recent "winnings". The first one was from the same vendor as the black jasper. I mean, once I "won" the first auction, I had to buy a few more to "save" on shipping, right? And then once I had some agate, I figured I should get some more agate so that I can tumble them all in a big batch: I'm almost done! I swear!

ejs;
Of the Crazy lace the first one is from Colorado and the 2nd one is Mexican.
I`m sure they worded that on the Ad ?

Those are awesome, keep'm coming!! Nancy- like Jamie said, you just work them on the finer wheels. On the soft stuff, I do my initial pre-forming on the second diamond wheel, skip the next two wheels and finish them up on the last two. When I did the garnet last week, I used the pre-polish wheel to actually do the final shaping! lol KD- the Red and Black is my favorite one

lapidary: those two pieces of crazy lace were purchased from separate vendors in separate auctions. Neither one listed the origins of the rock. I just liked the way they looked. I plan to cut them up with a saw (assuming I can find someone with a saw who is willing to help!) and tumble them.

I'd like to see more ebay winnings if anyone else wants to post them Thank you for the invite Haven't ebayed in a while but these are from a year ago in a month long obsession with bidding. Got hooked for a period of time that began with the first win ;D vogesite polished slab of pet wood (loved the swirls of pink) I think this was labeled Imperial Jasper but not positive. this was my "got to have it no matter what" win. Snuck the last bid with less than 12 secs or so left and still was able to keep within a reasonable price. Willow Creek Jasper. other side
