A few weeks ago I had an older gentleman call me and said he heard I was into buying rocks. None of his kids are interested in doing anything with his rock collection that he and his wife have collected over the decades, so he wanted me to come over and see if I was interested. Tonight, after work, I went over and took a look, and we struck up a deal on the whole lot. Here is a picture of the first load. You can see that Callie is guarding the pile. ![](http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z229/catmandewe/BigCreek08007Medium.jpg) This is all the stuff he had stored inside, I still have to clean out all the outside rock gardens and storage areas. I am having so much fun, I think maybe I should quit my job and just go rock collecting!!! Tony

Tony: You seem to have the famed luck of the Irish when it comes to finding/obtaining old collections. Tony's Rock Shop must be getting close to happening. You will have to list all this material...at least that which you will part with. Woody

WOW! Another great haul!! There aren't any "rock" shops in Florida. Bring them all down here and I'll help you in your shop! LOL Can't wait to see your pics of these after you organized them somewhat.

Hey Larry, No different guy. I am still working on that deal, if it does finally work out, everyone is welcome to come dig for opals for free. The opal mine guy's grandmother has a big ole pile of rocks, too. Maybe one of these days..........................guess I better stick to the task at hand. I went over Sunday to get the last load from this collection, and found out that the collection has been slowly settling into the ground over the past 40 years, and the piles are way bigger than either Kenny or myself thought. I got a full load, and there is still at least another load, if not more. The first pile I started on was not very big and looked like a few hundred pounds. By the time I finished digging it out of the ground I was up to about 1500 lbs and about 2/3 of a truck load. I finished filling up out of another pile, and have about 2500 lbs in the pickup. Callie had to ride in the front on the way home, she really likes that! ![](http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z229/catmandewe/HPIM0919Medium.jpg) some closeups, still dirty, but shows some of the color (and I really need to take a tripod too) ![](http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z229/catmandewe/HPIM0921Medium.jpg) ![](http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z229/catmandewe/HPIM0922Medium.jpg) ![](http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z229/catmandewe/HPIM0923Medium.jpg) The next load has a bunch of stuff that Kenny calls Montana Opalite, but it looks like Wonderstone to me. I will try to remember to get some pics. Have a great day................Tony

With all this rock hauling you've been doing, your truck must have some serious heavy duty suspension.
A haul isn't complete without a companion riding shotgun.
Good for you!
