I haven't been right yet but i figure these two should be easy correct me if I'm wrong please first one is desert rose i think. i have never seen one like this tho. I'm use to the little round ball ones marble to golf ball size. Now this one I'm not sure but i think it's Aqua Marine I hope LOL Now this is a stand i came across I'm guessing it's stone. sure is pretty and it fits the Desert rose well and a chunk of pet wood. should this be sliced to tumble or is this meant for something greater. Being the novice that I am i dont want to destroy something just to tumble. any sugg. Thanks for any help

First one is a selenite rose ( gypsum in the bladed form). Not good at colored gems so I'll leave that one to the experts. The plate looks like fossilferous limestone that comes out of places like China and Morocco. Your's appears to be full of pelecypod or brachiopod fragments along with lots of other stuff. Lots of those plates are full of ammonites or other shelled cephalopods and all make great pieces of nature art. Your Arizona wood looks like a full round and those are fairly scarce so I'd leave it whole and maybe just polish the end. Better to leave the slab saw for broken hunks...Mel

The Petrified wood from here look`s like a Texas Limb Cast ( Pink Agate ) Or the Oregon Limb Cast From the south fork of the Crooked river.
