I'm organizing a trip for my self and my wife to Portland , Texas. Didn't know where else to put this....My wife thinks we are going to visit our daughter and 2 grand-daughters...I know better...I already hooked up with Curt to see about getting some pet wood...thinking of stopping at Hot Springs, AR for some quartz....tried to get in touch with Mel to see what was in the TX hill country....looking for other suggestions.
We're leaving next Tuesday (coming from near Buffalo, NY) and plan on getting to Portland Friday night, rest and visit Saturday, look for rock Sunday and Monday (I'm willing to drive 4-6 hours one way to get to them), rest and visit Tuesday, start for home Wednesday, plan on being home by the following Tuesday or sooner depending on the money.
I'll have internet most of the way down and back and I'll take my camera.......my cell is 716-679-8544 (9-9 eastern time until central time then 9-9 central). I'm looking for good, inexpensive campgrounds and rock picking places.
