I have been reading the many post that refer to Mexican Crazy Lace Agates. I thought that it would be cool to tumble a batch, but found lots of variations in the listings. For example, "Mexican Lace Agates", "Lace Agates", "Crazy Lace", and "crazy Lace Agates". My question has to do with the difference between the material. Is it all the same stuff, but with different names? I purchased three pounds of Mexican Lace Agates from The Rock Shed. I am hoping that I bought the right rough. LOL.
Thanks,
Randy

Not all Lace is Crazy Lace (there's blue lace, missouri lace, etc.), but all Crazy Lace comes from Mexico. I would think Mexican Lace Agates from The Rock Shed would be what you're looking for.

lapidaryrough has referred to a crazy lace (i.e., dogtooth calcite pseudomorph) that comes from Colorado ro Utah or somewhere - but I don;t know anything about it.
If you can tell if the rock was dug way back, say form an old collection, it may be better quality than what was fresh dug the last few years.
... also, there is regular and red varities.
