I will be in Minneapolis for a conference for a few days. Are there any rock shops anyone can recommend? Also any good hounding areas?
Thanks,
the max

There are 3 rock shops in the Minneapolis area that I'm aware of: Enchanted Garden has lots of rock from all over the world. Very little rough, no equipment. Enchanted Rock Garden 6445 Lyndale Ave S Richfield, MN 55423-1405 612) 866-1140 Haven't been in ZRS yet, so can't comment. ZRS Fossils And Gifts 3018 Lyndale Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55408-2934 (612) 824-1068 zrsfossils.comVeberod does their own lapidary and makes jewelry. They have jewelry supplies, lapidary equipment (Lortone) and supplies, and a relatively small selection of tumbling rough (and some finished stones). Veberod Gem Gallery 13023 Ridgedale Dr Minnetonka, MN 55305-1807 (952) 595-8338 www.vgems.netYou might have better luck finding what you're looking for if you have time to get across the river to Berg's Rock Shop (about 45 minutes from downtown Mpls). Never been there, but they have a good rep and a traditional rockhound shop. Berg's Rock Shop, Inc 1231 Pearl Street Prescott, WI 54021-1813 www.bergsrockshop.com/Hope that helps! Chuck

Thanks Chuck. I haven't seen the agenda for my conference yet but hope there are enough breaks for me to slip away and visit a couple of these.
