Beautiful scenery! That first picture is outstanding, it could make the cover of any travel agency brochure. And it seems the land waslittered with beautiful agates! It looks like you had a blast!

Nice pics Oz. Steve, we wish you could have stayed too. Scott, hope you have made it home safe, let us know when you get there. I got there Friday a little before noon, and found the campsite, Scott's tent was there, but no Scott. My Dad and I had just gotten our camp set up when Ozzy showed up, so we helped Ozzy set up his tent, I snapped a picture of camp just before we decided to go look for a rock or two. This is Ozzy headed up the hill at his secret agate spot. We went down the road a little and found lots of agate pieces laying all over the ground Thats Oz looking for the one with his name on it Some scenery The next day all of us went to a different area to look around, Oz had a gemtrails book, and we had some directions from Steve. It threatened to rain off and on, and we were just finding some good stuff at Steve's spot, but decided we better get out of there before it rained. Our next stop was the pigeon blood agate stop. A picture of all of us at the Pigeon Blood Agate spot, (the wind kept blowing my camera off of the hood of Scott's pickup, we had to prop it up with some really nice pieces of pigeon blood agate.) Our next stop was kind of elusive, but after some 4x4ing we found a good spot with some colored jasper and some coprolite. Some of the jasper I got a call from Rodney and he was headed to Cedar City for some rockhounding on Sunday, so Scott and I decided we would join him. We went back to camp and folded everything up and headed for Cedar City. About 50 miles west of Green River we met "The Storm" and drove very slowly until in the dark and blinding blizzard we saw a motel 8 sign in the distance, thats where we spent the night. This is the view the next morning we decided we better head for home if it was gonna get bad, so we headed north. This is the view just a few blocks from Steve's house Scott and I caravaned all the way to my place, and then Scott headed on for home (Washington), sure made for a long day of driving, especially for Scott. I got all the camping gear unloaded and went out to unload the rocks, here is the haul. Lots of these are landscape rocks, but some are very nice and will make some great slabs/cabs/tumbles. Mostly jaspers on the left and agates on the right. All in all I had a blast, very glad I went. Thanks Ozzy for putting on this trip. Tony

What awesome scenery! The scenery alone would be almost be worth the trip but with that incredible agate you do not have to dig big holes for would just frost the cake! This is one place I really have to 'hound. Woody

Great trip report, and Callie looks like she's right at home. I take it you've converted her to a rock hound, huh?

Early spring sounds good to Woody......When is early spring in Utah? We have just traded in our eight foot pop up trailer for a twelve footer with bigger beds, more water, a potty, and showers both inside and out, cargo deck for rock boxes, and larger wheels. The bed was the main reason to trade up, the previous one being only four feet wide, and this time of year in this economy we got a great price, and great trade in. We are ready for a good rock trip!
