I figured that I would share a few pictures of some Idaho rocks that most of you have never seen. All of these pieces come from the Owyhee mountains. The name of this material is War Eagle. Very similar to Owyhee but softer colors. This is Easter Egg Jasper from the Owyhees also. This came from John (Pebblepup) it is green moss agate from our clubs Plume Agate Claim. Here is some WagonTown Petrified Wood also from the Owyhees. Jason

Really cool Ideehoe Rocks! I like that Easter Egg too...but the 1st one I surely wouldn't mind cabbing; nor that killer Moss! Steve

The Easter Egg jasper is from a local that found the source over by the Owyhee picture jasper claim. I'm hoping next year he will take me to the spot to collect some. The spot was inaccessible this year as BLM fenced off the area to recover from a fire that happened the year before.

Nice rocks Jason! I have a few cabs made from that moss agate that are almost done. I should be able to post some pictures of them in a couple of weeks. I started marking up the Easter egg jasper but can't remember if I started cutting the cabs. I will post picture of that too but it might be a while before they are ready.

The Owyhee district sure produces some beautiful material! Don't you just love the BLM for denying us access? They are busy here in Washington making BLM land "green" by removing culverts on forestry roads...........and berming both sides so 4WD can not get through thus denying us access to our own land (we the people do own it, BLM only administers it) and telling us this is good for us. I do need to get over to Idaho this spring. Woody

I hear you. BLM gated the only 2 roads that lead to one of our clubs claims. The only place they go is to our claim nothing else. A half mile down the road there is another road that crosses a creek at least 5 different times in less than 2 miles and it is open go figure.
