Hey Everyone , I just noticed that the blade on my 18" turns clockwise , so instead of coming "down" on to the rock it would be coming "up " from under the rock. Is this correct ? If this isnt correct how would I go about changing it ? any / all ideas welcome
Thanks Dennis

So your saying you have a home made saw ?.............Our did someone re-wire the motor wrong Remove the motor and change the wire to reverse the motor. on the cover plate their should be a wire diagram to reverse the motor.

no it's not home made , its a Raytech ... so I am right in thinking that it should be coming down on to the rock rather than the upwards direction?

Yes. Down. EIther reverse polarity on motor, or re-mount motor 180-deg around.

Most commonly on single phase motors there are two wires (red and black) with slide on connectors. Reverse to change direction. If the motor label is still readable it should say near the bottom "reverse black and red wires to change rotation" . It might also be inside motor wire connection cover.

It was used to cut carbon and carbonsteel , she came from a metal shop , maybe when you cut metals the direction is different ? all I know is I got a hell'of a deal regardless of blade direction lol if its as simple as changing 2 wires I can live with that lol
Thanks John I will check it out today and see if I can change it around. I still havent heard from Raytech .. I will have to call them Mon I guess. I would really like to have a manual for her

Whoooo you where right John , I swapped the red an black wires and now it's running in the correct direction. Thank you very much ... everyone , Jack , Deb . Now I just need to find an operators manual , so I can figure out how the other switches and pump work lol
Thanks again Dennis

How many switches? The pump was probably added so may have a switch. I should think one switch for both powerfeed (if it uses a separate motor) and blade motor. Shouldn't be hard to figure out by turning on one switch at a time. The pump should run any time the blade runs and should use two tubes to spray both sides of blade where the blade contacts the rock. Pump systems work best with multiple compartment tanks so sediment/sludge settles out and oil spills over into compartment with pump. My old Highland Park came (used) with a 10 gallon bucket and pump. The saw drains through a canvas bag. I am temporarily using it as is (for the last 10-12 years).

It has 3 switches .. The one behind the black knob is the on-off for the blade, the one just under the knob is for the auto-feed . on the bottom box there is the red light a push button , which I think is a reset , and a reg toggle switch , that I havent figured out yet lol on the bottom of that box there are 2 electrical outlets I dont know what / or how that all works . I spoke with someone from Raytech and she is sending my a manual for the saw. She also told that there arent many parts available for it , but that most can be found thru Grangers .
