Arighty, I'm gonna purchase another blade. What I need is to know is which blade is the best of the best? I'll spend the money to get what I want. I was looking at the MK 303 blade (16 inch), are these the best? I want it to cut smooth and fast, and last a while without having to cut a brick every other cut the keep it going. Also, it looks like the 16 inch MK 303 only comes in .085 thickness, this seems kinda thick to me. Is there any advantages in using a blade this thick? ...or is it not really as thick as it sounds? I just hate to lose a ton of material in the cuts, turning almost half of the rock into a puddle of slurry. Any and all opinions are welcome!!

I like the thicker blade. The .085 on the club 18" saw works real well. May be slightly thick for 16", but will not dish or cut tapered slabs ... etc.
I hear good things about the 301 too, and I also hear these blades can have a C or P rating. Hopefully johnsgems will chime in.

OK- still need help. I found a website labeled "JSGems", but they don't list the blades on it. Can someone send me a link. Also, does anyone know anything about the Barranca blades? (BD 301)

Randy - here's John's profile: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=johnjsgemsHe normally answers PMs within a day or two, and is very knowledgable about the products he carries. You won't see the prices listed on his site, and he doesn't normally advertise his prices out in the open, but he's beaten every listed price I've found on the pieces I've purchased from him.

Randy: I like both the higher grade MK blades, the notched and the segmented rim models. The MK 303 is the continuous rim model and the Gem King is the MK301 notched rim. Think the segmented rim 303 cut longer and faster. I like www.eloxite.com for my blades. Pretty reasonable and ship real fast. I got about 140 hours on the segmented continuous rim model ( MK303) before it started bogging down. Haven't tried one but I've heard good things about the Barranca blades...Mel

Funny you should mention Exolite, because that's who I went and ordered from. ;D I get alot of stuff from them, most of their prices are the best. I ordered the MK Gemking, I'm gonna give that one a try. If I don't like it, then I'll try the MK 303. I'll try them all!! lol (I also ordered some gold-filled and sterling silver cinch-mounts for my cabs)

MK and Barranca are the same blades. 303 segmented is pretty thick but very durable and works great when cutting hard rock. The 301 Gem King is the new 301 that replaced the notched rim 301 formerly made in CA. It is also thick, has notch like segments in the diamond cutting surface, and reported to work even better than the 303S. Thanks everyone that gave me a plug. I have all the blades on sale at 25% off but discount further for RTH members (usually 5% more). Generally try not to openly advertise on the forum but feel free to contact me. Have not got around to adding them to the site but will probably do so soon. They will be in the online store portion when I do.
