This is the 50cent/lb pile at Rock Castle - or at least half of it. It goes down the hill. Some of the huge pieces will negotiate down to 25cent/lb, but they are close to 400lbs afterall. (click for larger) You can see some closeups in my photobucket gallery: s207.photobucket.com/albums/bb114/deb193/rough/misc%20filler/The tub on the right is 70lbs I got Tue to fill up some of the boxes for folks that bought the PolkaDot I was selling. The other piles like the terr agate, named pet wood, brazillian, Noreena, ... aren't priced too badly either.

At that price, I would have filled up the back of my truck! Nice stuff

Randy, I have taken about 10 buckets of stuff off that pile over the past year. About half have been for me, and about half were shopping for others.
I think it fair to say that about 600lbs of the better smaller stuff is now gone. (Just call me higrader). I am sure there is more good stuff, but it might require digging down or rolling a few big ones out of the way.

Good thing I live on the east coast. Even though the prices are cheap I'd still be broke in no time flat.

The green swirley stuff is form somewhere near Gary Green digs, but it is a little more chalky feelings. Still pretty hard though. Sometimes breaks at the white layers. Here is a pic wet and dry for some slabs I cut from a prior piece. The blue is really more green-blue, and it get lighter green when dry. It is Hampton Butte Green Wood. This piece has bark/grain on the outside and that part is not likely to polish. But the inside had many solid areas, some with red dots: I am actually most excited by this piece: The pet-wood in this last shot is real nice. It is light gray translucent agate with streaks of brown and black. (Now on its way to Jonge.)

I am driving down to San Diego and back next month. How do I find the Rock Castle? Woody Woody, it is about 12mi detour off of I-5. I can get the street address so you can MapQuest it. But, only a 2mi detour off of I-5 a few exits sooner and you can go by ROcksJ2B2 in ALbany. Not only has all the OJ and Poppy and Plume I posted recently, but also has a few tons of 50cent rock. If you are passing through after the 12th I would be glad to meet you and escort to both places. -Daniel
