Wow, got to say I'm almost having more fun unpacking all my boxes than I did collecting the stuff in the first place. Anyway, here are a few more pics of the new Texas resident rocks. Thanks for lookin....Mel First of, a pic from our yard that shows how flint nodules occur in the native Edwards Limestone right in my lawn: Next, some small hunks of Brianhead Agate from Utah and a pic of the chipped corner of a big boulder of red and black breccia from the same site: Next, some stuff from the northern Mexico stuff I'm unloading: Durango Moss: Rare Purple Lace Agate from Durango. hardly ever see this anymore and it's not the same as the Royal Purple Aztec lace: Next, two varieties from the Confetti Agate veins in Chihuahua. They tend to be vuggy with plume along the edges as might be expected from material that comes from right by the famous flame agate location. Then finally, I'm unloading the first boxes of that beautiful jasper agate my wife and I collected in the south Cady Mountains not far from Lavic. The first two are more mossy and the last three more of a breccia. Whatever, very colorful stuff. It killed me to have to give away almost all this stuff but I moved only the best of the best to Texas.

Eye candy indeed! A lot of vibrant colors inside those rocks. The Durango moss is my favorite. The Confetti is also gorgeous, but those vugs makes it a bit difficult to work with, I think. Those jasper agates in rhe end of the post are really one of a kind, it shows you took the best of the best.

Adrian; Yep the Confetti is somewhat problematic due to the vugs but if you hunt and pic, you can still get 30x40 sized cabs from a slab and that largest piece is a big one, actually needs a 24 inch saw. I gave away my 20" saw to my Mariposa collecting buddy cause it was just too old and messy to move and the next saw I get will only be a 14 or 16" due to blade expense, so the big boulder will remain uncut unless I join a club with a big saw...Mel

Well, if you'd like me to take a trip down there, just tell me where it's at and I'd be happy to send you a flat-rater full.

Now that you moved out of Cal with your rock, the Cal falling into the ocean alert has lessened. lol Nice rock! Daniel

Mel I don't think I could handle seeing your collection first hand. My brain would short circuit in about 3 minutes. Fantastic stuff.
