I guess sometimes rocks are just too small for the drag saw, so you have to break out the regular slab saw

Impressive... I hate even to think about how much would cost a blade replacement for that monster. The blade diameter is close to 1 m (3 ft) or at least that's my guess looking at the picture.

I wondered if that was whose equipment we were admiring. I can definitely understand the need for a drag saw and the "smaller" slab saws considering the stock he gets.

Still, for his stock needs, I would make a 6" deep cut with the drag saw and then break the rock. If it is all going to fit into FRB eventually, why make such a careful 48" cut? Unless he plans to start making 36" rounds of pet wood and shipping freight, what is the point. I think his brother might have talked him into this out of rock obsession and not good business model.

Giant slab-specimens, giant spheres, table-tops - not much else to be done deb. I was gonna post some pics of my shop (30", 18", 12" saws, 2x27" & 12" flat laps, 2xUV10 tumblers for now) but now I don't feel worthy .

My 30" is an old-timer's kit-based home made saw. Got it for a steal, hardest part was bringing it home. I'm in the middle of modifying the lid so that it fits in my shop better. Pics will be coming soon.

I'd have to build a new shop to get that in. How about a pic of Bruce himself have dealt with him a lot thru Ebay no idea what he looks like.
