I went to the beach a couple days ago. The town was digging up the sea wall and it was like Santa left his loot. Something told me to bring my camera but of course I didn't. I found daddy to the little one I posted in the ID section. 0 This one has a neon pink color one the back side that I have never seen in a rock before front back cool swirls in this one. shows better dry than wet. I love the colors and patters of this one. It is probably just a conglomerite of leaverite but I had to bring it home. front view side view The last time I used my saw I got zapped (or thought I did) but this rock wasn't leaving me alone. So I figure what the heck its not like the juice is 220 and the zap was only a little one (really dumb thinking). So I started cutting. Felt a little tingle but it was really cold out and my hands were getting numb anyway and the rock must be cut. figured I'd do this also as it would be the last one. Thanks for looking

Looks like you found some nice stuff. Those cut rocks are very pretty. I hope you have your saw plugged into a GFI outlet. Electricity and water is NOT a good combination.

I'm not sure what a GFI outlet is but that was the last cut from that saw. My favorite beach seems to be giving up its treasures.
Randy, boy if that stuff is Pet Wood I'd hop up and down like a little kid.

Oh wow great finds Lori! I'd be hitting that beach as often as possible! A GFI (ground fault) outlet protects you from getting electrocuted. It will trip and shut off the power when it gets wet. Do you have a Workforce saw?

A GFI outlet looks like a regular outlet, except that there's two small rectangular buttons in the middle. You can also get an in-line GFI, it's just an extension of you extension cord that plugs in between your cord and your outlet. I think that Home Depot sells them. Here's what the wall unit looks like....

Randy, big thanks for the GFI discription especially the visual. I don't have the knowledge to put the wall switch in but the extension cord is easy enough.
Brian, I have a wf and that is what I cut the slabs with. I really got attached to it as I also taught myself how to cut preforms on it.

Jeez, I sell electrical goods, I will be happy to send you a GFI if you promise you will not try to install it yourself:) I try to do stuff around the house being single and all, but as I learned selling electrical goods does not make me an electrician, I learned tha the hard way Now when Tony comes, he gets the Honey Do list, hahaha. Seriously if you want me to send you a GFI I can get them.

That's so sweet of you. I couldn't promise I wont start the process of installing as that is how I get my husband to get projects done. Start them, do lousy job (in his view) he takes over and finishes.
Do you have a site for your electrical supplies? will keep it in my favorites so when I need something I have a great contact. I think the extension chord would suit my needs better as I would not be limited to one outlet to plug the saw in to.

I use one with an extention cord for that same reason. I can use it with my cabber in the house and also take it outside with me when Im using the WF.
