Wait. Are you saying the article made it in? I haven't heard from the editor in over a month. I'll have to go out and see if I can find a copy.
I don't know which pictures got used yet, but several people on this board supplied me with their own pictures for me to submit with the article. So thanks to Cher, Snowdog, Rollingstone, and Deb193redux. There may have been one or two more, but I forget.
Feel free to brag here if your picture made it in - because I don't remember which pictures came from who...

Todd - The lead picture on page 12 is your workbench.

That one I know. And I think the middle one on page 13 is Snowdogs. Last one on page 14 is mine too. But I can't remember the rest.
(Obviously got the magazine since my first post)

No problem, Steve. Turned out okay considering I had to cut it in half from the original submission. That was painful. You ask twenty people on this board to write that article, you'll get twenty variations. But that's the great thing about tumbling, start with some basics and then vary the recipes and techniques to suit you.

Toad is Todd? I liked the article when I saw it. It never occured to me that it might be a member here that wrote it though. Guess it should have in hindsight. LOL. Good job.

Not sure about copyright rules, but it'd be great if someone could post the article or a link to the article here. I subscribed to R&G for several years, but let my subscription run out at the start of this year. -Don

that is wild, i got my issue yesterday, read the article and almost did a post in here like " who is heck Todd Pappas? " nice to see it really was a member in here, but a shame you had to cut the copy in half as obviously i could have read another 3-4 pages on this topic. here is the link to the website, but it's not up to date: www.rockngem.com/current.aspif nothing else, Don, i can scan the article in to my 'puter and email it to you. can you open PDF files? "Once the desired shape is attained, however, all subsequent stages should be completed in a vibratory tumbler."
I respectfully disagree, I routinely get beautiful results using only my Thumler's Model B rotary. For someone low on funds, a vibe is expensive and not altogether necessary IMHO.

Yep, some people get great results using only the rotary - after all they've been around a lot longer. And some folks use a vibe for all stages. It comes down to preference and/or funds and maybe other factors.
Vibe not necessary, but it did a better job for me...
