I was looking at my rock garden this morning, and I decided to bust up some of the copper minerals I collected at the Guadalupe mine here in NM a couple of years ago. (The access road to the mine is now closed, more's the pity...). Anyway, I threw them into a tumbler in some 60/90 and I'm gonna run them for a week and see what happens. They are very soft, and my guess is they'll probably turn into a crumbly mess of poisonous gas, but I decided to try it as an experiment. Will post photos if I get anything interesting. Susan

Don't know about poison gas? But I wouldn't dump the slurry on the grass or in the garden! Copper is the way to clean out your sewer lines if you have tree roots in them I know had to have some one cut down two big old maples in front of the house, after using it!

Having enough "extra" tumbler space to try an experiment must be nice! Maybe they'll come out looking like pennies. Open the barrel outside, we don't want to read about any copper gas incidents in NM. Joe
