Had to idle my tumbler for a while. Have gotten started back and about have a batch ready for polish and can't remember how much TO Polish to put in a 3 lb. rotary tumbler. With the price of that stuff I don't want to use too much.
Thanks,
the max

I never measure but would try 2-3 teaspoons. You can add a little more if needed after a day.

Thanks for the info. Chassroc, I take your comment to mean the polish doesn't break down like grit does? I have only used the TO Polish a couple of times in the past and hadn't heard/read that you could save it before.
Thanks,
The Max

I tried TO a few times in the beginning looking for a better shine. I found that a good AO gets a better shine. 4 TBS for a 3# barrel and it is less expensive. Just my observations.

I just took out some obsidian from TO polish , i used 2 heaping tbs and they came out great , I did need to add more water as it was drying out and getting gooey.

I never use more than 2 teaspoons of any polish in a 3 lb barrel.

My Raytech vibratory tumbler (5lb) uses 2 teaspoons of polish I have used a cheaper AO polish that didn't quite measure up to cerium oxide. I'd love to know how to recycle $16.00/ld cerium oxide! Mark H.

Hi Mark H, I and most people recycle CO
Put rocks in Coulnder catch polish/water then put Liquid into tall bottles let stand till the CO has dropped to the bottom carefully pour off the water,
next time I polish I just add this thick liquid to rocks to be polished, after 2 or 3 batches I add 1/2 a teaspoon of new CO to mixture
This works well Im sure others will add their comments
