I know there are lots of you that have given up on Graves' Lapidary Supply. i hadn't read those threads prior to my last order buyt should have expected as much based on my own experience. A year or so ago I placed an order and received an eMail acknowledgement - that was the last communication Ihad with them and after several weeks and several atytempts to get someone on the phone i finally spoke to a woman who said my order had apparently been lost- over a week later the package finally arrived. On October 9th I ordered again, as I had chalked up the experience to a fluke error. But NOOOOOOOOO! i still haven't received my order and they aren't answering the phone or eMails- deja vu all over again. This is a well established company and as another thread stated, their products are great and their prices are fair. I own a Mark IV faceter I'm learning to use, and will doubtlessly need parts for. i hate to think I'm at their mercy. So if anyone out theere is contemplating buying equipment or supplies from them, BEWATRE!!

Follow-up- I finally received an email reply stating that the alcohol lamp I was ordering was backordered and due in today. i called yesterday and actually got someone on the phon and confirmed with her that the order would be forthcoming. Wish they would notify when something is out of ctock. Of course, being a glutton for punishment I ordered 50lbs of grit, too. Mark H.

And the saga continues. Got the shipment today. Last week I finally reached intelligent life at Graves and got an eMal i think it was an automated response saying sometimes the email traffic is too heacvy for them to respond immediately. But a month? then after another couple of days, I received an eMail from Peter saying the alcohol lamps were on back order and would be in Tuesday. I called yo follow-up Monday and tSandy(?) told me the order would indeed be going out soon. WHile on the phone, I decided that I would orde the 50lb pack of 60/90 tumbling grit and had it added to the order. I received the package today. the grit was bil;led as $123.00, not the $75 it was listed for online. I called and Peter told me that $75was the internet "sale" price and since I called the order in it was billed at their regular price. Well, i've been lookinf at the Graves price online and it has alweays been abotu the same. Peter did, however, promise to credit my account. by the way, the allcohol lamp cap retainign chain was broken. Good thing I checked the invopice. I'm done with these clowns. Mark H.
