I finished a batch a few days ago and just finished taking pictures. A lot of these rocks are from various people on the board. Whole batch: Brecciated jasper and an unknown banded agate from Chadman: Amethyst and plume/moss agate from Creativeminded. The agate developed some pits in one area but the rest polished really nicely. Mix of Indian rocks from Harryz including green moss agate, fancy bloodstone, regular bloodstone, carnelian, pink green moss agate, black skin agate, and yellow, orange and green adventurine. Close up of the green moss: Rhodontite and Dallasite from LCARS. The rhodontite was really hard but didn't get a good shine, any tricks for it? SW Washington Carnelian: Limb casts: Maury Mountain Moss: Petrified wood with carnelian: Thundereggs, first one probably Richardson's last three Lucky Strike: Tigereye that I heat treated: India scenic agate, fossil coral and Owyhee jasper: Pieces from two mystery slabs:

Nice batch! The carnelian and Indian material are my favorites. Id have to see the whole slab to be sure but the dendritic/banded yellow and black stuff in the last pic may be Rainbow Ridge material if it came out of Calif. really like those pieces too....Mel

Very nice batch. Why did you have to heat treat the tigereye and how did you go about doing it?

Great batch of stones, but the depth of the pattern in that small triangular coral stands out for me.

Very nice batch. Why did you have to heat treat the tigereye and how did you go about doing it? Jon Heat treating tiger eye will turn it red. Here is a link about heat treating. www.focalstones.com/Tigereye.htm

All very nice, but the bloodstones and the carnelian stand out for me. Nice job.

If you're tumbling that rhodonite to polish it's better to put it in with glass (or simillar softer material) for the last two stages. It's about a 4-4.5 in hardness so it will usually not take a mirror shine when mixed with harder rocks. It seems to shine well (for me) when tumbled with beach glass using TO polish. It also has a grain to it and will polish fine along the grain but it can be tricky to get it to polish nicely on surfaces running across the grain.
It's good to see some of my raw material went to good use though. ;D

Beautifull rocks -- you got love the RTH board. I've also traded rocks with Jamie(dessertdweller) and others in the board, and it just makes it so much better when you finish a batch and you have rocks from various parts.
Thanks for sharing.

Those turned out great. On the tigereye, I think what would work great would be to heat treat them after the tumble. I heat treated some before the tumble and like yours I lost most of the red. When I get some gold tiger eye tumbled I am going to try it. Tami

That is a really beautiful batch. The pet wood is gorgeous. Kind of looks like the shape of a horse head in racing mode; head stretched forward and ears back while running like grease lightning.
