(don't tell her I said that) ;D ..... Every time I do a pendant batch, I pick out the best of the best and then pick 5 (or a couple more) out of those, they go in the 'ol lady's bag. I finally capped some yesterday, here's two pics...... These include Polka dot agate (Oregon), Koi jasper (Africa), Mookaite (Australia), Mexican crazy lace, Kambamba (Africa), Imperial jasper, Red jasper, African brecciated jasper.....

They are very, very pretty.

All you need is a Workforce saw from Home Depot and a vibratory rock tumbler. A Thumblers UV-10 will do between 400 and 500 pendants at a time. (This is alot of cutting) lol

400-500 per batch? Yikes! Yeah, that's a LOT of cutting ... a lot of bells and epoxy, too!
Those are some gorgeous pieces, Randy. Way to spoil the Old Lady!

*newnotetoself*
When my man gets home two weeks from now, demand that either the '72 or '69 Camaro be removed from the garage so that I can have just a teeny-tiny corner for myself in order to pursue what I hope to be my new hobby.
If it gets heated, blame it on Randy. lol.

Morticia, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Asking him to remove a vintage Camaro from the garage? Not gonna happen. Asking him to build you a large, comfortable shed for your hobby ... much more likely ... it gives him an excuse to buy and use power tools. Accept the fact that men are just spoiled, selfish little boys in big bodies, and use that knowledge to your advantage.
How you approach him ... "Honey, I really want to do this, so would you please build me a nice shed? I thought about asking you to move one of your cute little cars outside, but I know how much you love them, and that just wouldn't be fair. Besides, all of the sawing, grinding and tumbling really makes a mess, and I know you want to keep the garage nice for your cars."
"Oh, by the way, Sweetie, after buying my first batches of rock and a couple of machines, I had the credit limit raised on the card so that there's enough available to build my shed." ... ummm, no ... leave that part out.

You are so right, of course. My love is powerless against my feminine wiles,,,unless we're talking cars.....it is only then that I come up against a force with power of which I have never before seen... A workshed out back WOULD be nice,,and he could just tack it onto the plans he already has for the giant shop he's wanting back there... This ain't your first rodeo, is it michaeljohn? And sterling advice.

Wow, my first new car was a 1968 Camaro. It was metallic gold in one light and metallic green in another. $2800 brand new. That won't make a down payment on one of these computerized non cars we have today. Say what you want, but them was the good old days. Curt

It's in the bag. He already has the garage. If he gets a shop, you get a shop. If he balks, let him come home one day to a Camaro sitting in the driveway with a tarp over it. You'll get your shop.
Yeah, been in the saddle too many times, on too many ornery mares. I've experienced quite a wide spectrum of relationship power struggles and compromises. My "mare" and I parted ways about a month ago, after 8 years, and I'm still saddle-sore, so please excuse my somewhat cynical perspective. Relationships are great when two people combine to form one greater entity than the individuals, but when that synergy dissipates, and that singular entity becomes a withered ghost, both parties suffer, and it's time to move-on, re-find yourself, and re-build. It's a sweet-n-sour kinda thing, and this time has been pretty sour for both of us.

I am also particularly fond of the red and green jasper. The patterns are most excellent.

The red and green are my favorites as well, because of the patterns. Africa has all of the coolest stuff!! Michealjohn- You're "cynical perspective" is actually my way of thinking. The vintage American muscle would always have a home in my garages. Right now I have a 1930 Chevy in one, and a 1970 Chevy stepside in the other. Both are full-custom hotrods.

Hmmm.. well I guess you do have a point MJ..even tho you explain it as if it's no different than trading in a car.. lol.. but I don't think women divorce for the same reasons men do..
we get out when the getting is good.. we don't wait till the value of our car is worthless..and it's flipped over twice in miles ,or is all banged up.. lol..

Nice, Randy, as always!
MM: Set your saw up, it doesn't take much room, LOL. But it does spit a little; cover those cars (or not, haha, a little saw spit on the cars may get the shop done faster, but be careful not to scratch the paint while wiping it off!! LOL, I am JUST KIDDING!!!), and go for it!

Randy, the shine on those are fierce. I'm partial to Mook and the patterns in the Red. It's really nice that you autimatically set aside the best of the best for her.
It isn't how many miles you still have but whether they are highway or round town.
