A couple years ago I met Bob Rush (Bobby1) Through Shain Mayer's "Freeform Cabs" board. As it turns out Bob lived on the same block as me when I was growing up. Small world. Bob is a real skilled lapidary/Jewelery hobbyist and has mastered all avenues in this field. Shortly after I had met him, Bob stopped by my house to check out my jade finds. While in my garage I showed him a stone knife I was making and couldn't complete. It was a obsidian and Boulder Opal mix that I had dropped (Broke) re-glued and gave up on. I asked if he could do something with it and he took up the challenge. It was about a year later before I met up with him again and he showed me his progress on what he did. As it turned out, he resurrected this knife I started and turned it into a piece of artwork. He gave me the run down on how he re-cut and re-glued, and used his experience on polishing obsidian. He since then added some nice Siberian jade to hide the boulder opal and obsidian transition, a stroke of genius! Here is Bobs B.O and Obsidian/Jade knife. If it wasn't for Bob's skill and expertise this knife would be at the bottom of a trash heap somewhere. Well here is the one photo I managed to steal, Hope you don't mind Bob.

That is a work of art! It deserves pictures from more angles, and maybe an object for scaling. Congrats both of you, Tony for starting it and Bobby for finishing.

Tony, I remember the knife now that you brought it up. It is still unfinished. I've got some more Siberian Jade preformed for the back of the handle and for the back side. Unfortunately it is in storage right now. With my preoccupation with getting retired, selling my old house, moving to the new one and waiting to get my workshop built I haven't been able to do anything further with it. Remember this one that you gave me? I did some work on it , also. Its not finished either....same lame excuse. Oh, to get the workshop finished! There is hope....pouring concrete on Tuesday. Bob

SNAAAZZZYY!!!!! Man you guys got some crazy skills! I know when it's finished it's going to be priceless! Not only will it have Choice material that makes it in a class all it's own.. But the shape of that blade is bad ass!.. and, I'm so glad to know it will be finished one day..! Can't wait to see it then too!

That is a work of craftsmenship and art at its finest. That knife is amazing and belongs in a showcase but from the pic it looks like that blade could do some serious cutting. applause to both of you.
