Well I was waiting a week for a sunny day and I finally got one yesterday. Here are the cabs I finished last week. Now that the sun is lower in the sky I need to rethink my photo methods. They stink anyway.
Alunite. Why anyone would try and cab this material is beyond me. I ahve bellybutton lint that is higher on the Moh's scale than this stuff.
Amazon Valley jasper. Don't tell Bejewelme but I raided her stash. ;D Hey I didn't tell her to leave her rocks at my house. lol
Blue quartz. OK Superman had kryptonite, Cpt. Kirk had the Klingons, I have quartz. I cannot get a shine on any quartz material. I have no idea why but it just doesn't like me.
Unknown Canadian material. Despite SirRoxalots recent derogatory comments about the USA I still like rocks from there. lol I got this from the guy I buy most of my local material from. Wish I could remember its name. Pretty stuff and the pic doesn't do it justice.
Copper complex. This piece speaks for its self and it has a big mouth.
Dendritic jasper (?). No idea where I got this.
? Green jade form northern California. I was at a show recently and a dealer there was selling a wide variety of jades from California at rock bottom prices. I can't remember the specific type of this one though.
A little unknown. I'm thinking wood.
Mexican poppy jasper. Could have gotten a better shine.
Owyhee jasper.
Rhodocrosite. I got this piece for 75 cents at a recent show. It had been overlooked by a lot of people including Bejewelme. I think she wants to fight me for it now. lol
Tiffany stone wannabe. I got this off of ebay. It supposedly comes from a mine very close to the Tiffany stone mine and is of similar material. I don't have any Tiffany stone to compare it to but there is no purple in this and it seemed harder than opal.
Thanks for looking.
