Here are a few cabs I completed this last week. I have more that I need to finish photographing that I will post later. The first two are of a Green Moss Agate. This is the same slab material that Jason (1rockhound) posted a while back. Owyhee Picture Jasper Quartz Cabochon on Tumbled Garnets Very Small Cabochon, Unknown Material Opal Ore Cabochon. This is from a material collected Satuday while rock hounding with Jason (1rockhound). There are a few specs of fire in this but the camera did not pick it up.

Very nice. That moss is a different color than I'm used too. That small one is really tiny. Did you dop it on a pin head? lol Nice job on all.

Wow nice stuff, Owyhee Picture Jasper is not a fav, but that piece looks really nice, see I always think I don't like particular stones then I see them finished and like them, the moss agate is very different looking, and the opal ore looks cool, I bet that is neat when you can see the flash

Thank you everybody. On the tiny cab I dopped it on a drywall screw that was attached to a dowel. I was almost grinding on the screw when I worked that one.

Two things... The second cab, does anyone else see the sleeping giant (ear at bottom right, profile of nose and chin facing away) then there is a lion looking close at him(very clear eye on the upper right area, a nose bridge in the center and the other eye goes off the cab)... How did you get the quartz to look so good? Every time I try to cab my quartz, I seem to chip it out. Kind of like splintering.. any advise? Fran

Great cabs. I like the quartz but that teeny tiny cab is really cool.
Fran I went back to try to see what you saw. Took a while but now I see it plain as day.

Wow! I never noticed anything in that second cab before. Thanks for pointing that out.
As for the quartz, it was pure luck. I shaped it first with a grinding wheel then finished it off in a tumbler. This is the only one I was happy with. Other attempts chipped or broke up.

Very nice looking cabs. Wish camera could have picked up the fire in the last cab. Keep up the great work.
