A friend of mine has started turning bowls like our TonyTurner. He poked a hole in the bottom of one and asked if I could make a cab to inlay in the bottom of his bowl. The Morrisonite will look good I think. The Idontknowite is the lid to a wooden box he is making. Should turn out pretty cool. Any ideas as to what it is? Thanks for looking! john

Dang, that Morrisonite looks very beautiful! I think it will look super, those earth tones are so complimentary to the natural wood. Nice choice, don't know what the other stone is, but it looks nice too.

Very nice! Is the second one a stromolotite? It's going to look super with the wood.

John, with such a great work you can always count for nice words Beautiful cabs, I like the Morrissonite the most but the other one is pretty cool, too. Please post the pics of the wooden bowls. Another idea: your friend could make wooden lids for those bowls and place your cabs on those lids. Eitherway, the idea of placing the cab of the bottom of the bowl is great but requires the bowl to be empty in order to admire it. Adrian

Both those cabs are knockouts! Of course I like the green one just a little bit better. lol Those should look so much nicer than my attempts. The few times I tried putting a rock in the bottom of a bowl were before I knew anything about rocks. I shaped the slabs of agate using tile nippers. It didn't make for a very smooth finish. Now that I know how to make cabs I never go through the bottom of a bowl. Well almost never. lol Can't wait to see the finished product since I'm a rock and wood guy.
