Here's part 2. Blue Eden Wood. I've always wanted to go out and hunt this wood, but just haven't had the chance. Here's some I picked up. Some of it is highly agatized and what some cool blues! I can't wait to cut the ends and do some dome polishing on the smaller ones. Any thought on this one? Wood or something else? This one has me excited too! Poppy Jasper. What type?? Some purple. This is actually not from Utah!! It is the Royal Aztec Lace how Mel identified it as. (I think that's what he called it) My friend got it in Quartzite years ago, traded Dino Bone for some. He didn't have much of this, but I picked out some nice pieces. How common is this material anymore?? and is Purple agate one of the more uncommon colors?? There's a bit more..but I think it deserves proper lighting....as should all of this. I was just too excited to post some pictures. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow too...but I can't make back to back trips! ;D Thanks for any help. Steve

Steve Oh,
That purple lace is just flat out awesome...where in Utah does it reside other than your workshop??

Holy cow Steve! That's some really nice "Royal Purple Aztec Lace" *L* The vein never was very thick and those pieces are really really nice sized. Most the pieces I have are pretty darn thin. Great lighting in the photographs too! It's not very often seen these days and usually very expensive too. often $10+ per pound. All I got I got from my traveling "dentistry for rocks" guy back in the 1980's. The poppy is Hornitos Poppy Jasper from the largest of the old 1960's digs right across the road from the best brecciated jasper pit. That's excellent looking stuff too and the redder poppies are the most scarce ( at least these days) The red was the primo stuff the diggers went for back in the day, as it was less fractured. That's nice wood too. I love those small limbs end polished. The green one had me stumped. Looks like maybe it's mossy and I can't wait to see that one cut open.....Mel

Big WOW on both part one and part two. I thought you were serious about an agitized puffer fish in part one. Between your pics and Mels descriptions, there is a ton of great information to go along with the incredable beauty of the whole lot.

Those pet wood limbs are beautiful! But the Royal Aztec is my favorite here.

Thanks Again Mel! Your Words of Wisdom are taken to heart. It's kind of exciting when you have the chance to get some really nice material. Can't wait to do some cabbing and slicing. I sliced the green unknown one tonight as well as another. I'll try to post a few pics. Thanks again everyone. I just had to spend this evening out in the rock shed just looking at that stuff again,.
