I recently purchased some Graveyard Plume from banjocreek. I had a couple of specific requirements since I would be using the material for doublets. It had to be small enough for my trim saw and I needed the agate base to be as clear as possible. The orangey/yellow base that it sometimes has is not clear enough for doublets.
banjocreek contacted me within 10 minutes of my sending a pm and within a day or two had my box together and a paypal invoice sent. I received my box today and am EXTREMELY pleased. Its obvious that they put some effort into fulfilling my requests and didnt just toss a bunch of rocks into a box. All pieces are small enough for my trim saw and nearly all have a clear agate base. The ones that do not have clear agate have excellent plumes and will still make great cabs. Some are clear to an extent that I can see my skin color through them....even though they are about 3/4" thick! They also wrote me a nice note on the invoice saying they hoped that the material was what I was looking for. Indeed! The nice "watery" look that you see in the photos is what I look for. Plume doublets are kind of my thing so Im always on the lookout for good plumes in a clear agate base.
I look forward to cutting these and revealing just how much potential they have for my doublets. Although the flash on my camera made the agate seem more cloudy than what it actually is, I am positive that once cut thin, I will have lots of usable material.
A small sampling of what I recieved:
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. banjocreek!
