Some time back I posted some photos of another hobby of mine, pen turning. I finally got the next batch I'd prepped finished, and it includes a turquoise "TruStone" (which is pulverized semi-precious stone mixed with resin) that I thought might be nice to post a shot of. I hope to put together a "stone set" one of these days since there are malachite, red jasper, leopard jasper, a couple of marbles and others to choose from. Nancy

i have always loved those pens, but the turquoise is my new favorite. just one question, do they have the clickable top or is it statioanary. ty This one is a twist action, the top barrel twists (to either side) to raise & lower the writing tip. I did a huge batch of click pens for a client once and really hated them - lousy to work with and weren't reliable after assembly. The twist action models I make, though, are very reliable. Nancy

I love your pens Nancy! You're gonna keep this up until I have to try to make one. Yet another obsession. This one is absolutely gorgeous!

Very, very nice! A Malachite pen would make an awesome addition to your line.

I've never turned that trustone stuff. Do you use gouges or scrapers?

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments! Tony - I use gouges for almost everything. lol Once in a while I need a parting tool, otherwise it's one of two gouges - a larger, wider one sharpened with a flat cutting area (for starting) and a smaller one that's sharpened in more of a fingernail shape for finishing. The TruStone really cuts beautifully, and shines up even better! (I use micromesh [after sanding to 600] for plastics and a plastics polish from Hut called Ultra Gloss). Nancy
