If I understand correctly, both are sub-micron AO. Does anyone know if one is finer than the other?
Thanks, Mark

How strange. I just got a dealers price sheet from Val at MLS about these polish compounds. According to the sheet Rapid Polish (formerly Myer's Rapid Polish) is sub-micron and TXP is micron sized. I e-mailed him back for micron sizes on both but it was after hours for him by then. I'll let you know what I find out. By the way, after e-mailing several companies looking foe wholesale polish Val was the only one to answer my e-mail. In my search I read a review of Myer's Rapid Polish and it listed it at .3 micron which is the same as Linde A for a lot less. TXP is noted as the best polish for tumbling (vibe and rotary). It looks to me like aluminum oxide is the polish that will replace the other oxides.

According to Val, he's the exclusive distributor of TXP and gave me a money-back guarantee on it. Now I don't remember if I've used it yet!

He is actually the manufacturer. He bought out Myers when he retired a few years ago.

Yep,TXP is 1 micron and #61 is .3 I'm obsessive so I generally run TXP for a day or two in my vibes and then #61 until satisfied.Mike.P.S. both are A.O. based with other"secret ingredients".

I heard back from Val today. TXP is 3 micron and #61 is .3 micron. I asked about a comparison between # 61 and Linde A as both are .3 micron though Linde A runs $100+ per lb. Val informed me Linde is "grown" to .3 micron crystal where his is made in blocks and ground to .3 micron size. He says it compares favorably in every area except faceting polish using ceramic laps. All other lapidary applications are pretty much equal. He seems very knowledgeable and a nice guy. If any of you live in Minnesota please patronize his shop. There are way too few of the good shops left.
