Howdy folks, Well Rich, I accepted your challenge and the light was bit better today so I took some more pics of that Lucky Strike Egg and a couple of more. Bit better this time but I really want to get a better camera someday. Thanks for looking....Mel The six inch mossy egg: Closer: Close as I can get: Baker Ranch egg up close as possible: Another Baker Ranch pair I just dug out of a box. The lines are so fine on these that they blur out when I try to photograph them. This one has really good parallax if I could capture it....

Outstanding eggs. One thing you could try if your cameras a compact take a picture through a jewellers loupe, may give you the detail.

Those are all great! I've got a (single) Lucky Strike egg that a friend gave me. I can't wait to cut it.

Mel, what Simon said put the loope against the lens and take more shots. lol. closer man closer! Just watch out for vertigo. I get it every time I use the loope with the lens.
Those are just beautiful!

Well can't really add much more to what's already been said! But I agree, they're beautiful!

Thanks for the pics Mel. I cut some t-eggs this weekend and one was full of moss. Gotta love a surprise like that.

Thanks for posting the extra pics, Mel. That mossy egg looks great. Those first two pics look like old Landsat photos of the tundra.
(Was gonna add another Baker egg pic to your original post, then I thought of the Rock ID thread. Nothing 'Baker' showed up in search so I'll throw it in there. Feel free to pile on.)
