I haven't cleaned the slab bucket for a while, so there are quite a few pics. Here is a pic of the whole bunch. A few slabs off of an egg from the Utah pile, lots of pattern. Some really cool pink jasper I got from the estate sale at Horse Shoe Bend Some slabs from Jason's willow creek find, this stuff is HARD, (2 motors, 1 belt and a blade later I have decided it is harder than normal) Some more Horeshoe bend material, the owner said it is Haystack jasper, but I am not sure. Another nodule from the Utah pile, hard to see in the pictures, but it has more depth to it than it shows. I was told this was zebra agate, but I think its pet wood. Some Rocky Butte This is bubble opal according to the old gent down in Utah. It looks pretty unworkable cut this way. I took the end cut and put it to the grinder to see if I could find some flash in it, it started showing flash then I lost it, but I noticed that it was starting to shine already on the 220 wheel. So I put the 400 belt on and hit it real quick, then once on the 600 belt, then straight to the polish wheel. Not bad for 10 minutes on the wheels. Well thanks for lookin.....................Tony

Tony is that Rocky Butte the piece I gave you last time you were over? If so is it as fractured as I though it would be.

Cool stuff Tony! I think that Bubble Opal you found is also called Common Banded Opal. It looks just like the stuff you can find down toward the Milford, Utah area. Some of it is softer than others...but occasionally you can find a really nice workable seam. It looks like you managed to get quite a great shine on the piece you played with. Steve

The Willow Creek material looks (like I can see hard) like a porcelain jasper.......at any rate it does look great. Sorry about the blade, I just cooked the temper out of my twenty inch, so know how much that hurts. So now, I have a blade with lots of diamond that cuts a line like a drunk sailor walking. BTW, it is great seeing what comes out of your slab bucket. Your rough pile on the flatbed looked great, but seeing the inside is much better. Woody Woody

Great Stuff Tony. I especially like the first pic of the egg. Yea, that would be my favorite. That bubble opal looks like some really juicy bacon.
