Here are a few photos of tumbles I finished over the past couple weeks. Morrisonite, Petrified Wood, Owyhee Jasper and Agate Bruneau Jasper - Fist Sized Piece Petrified Wood More photos and information about these tumbles can be found on my web site.

You have some really neat looking patterns in some of those. I can't hardly see it but the white one in the back of the first pic. looks neat along with the pointy one to the left of it. The bruneau in the second pic. has a neat pattern to it and the pet wood in the 3rd. at the bottom right looks like it might be able to be wrapped. Cool! Fran

That is a fantastic batch of tumbles. If you flip that Bruneau it would be an electric light show. You did a great job on these.

Great Tumbles PebblePup!
You hit a fabulous shine with those beauties, I really like the batch lots of fun for the eye! The Owyhee is particularly pretty, and I love your big chunk of Bruneau Jasper, those lightning flashes are super! Did you have to "juggle" the rocks in and out depending on progress, I would expect the Petrified Wood to take a lot longer in the grind than the softer Jaspers?
Nice job Buddy! Thanks for sharing them with us!
Cheers,
Sparkles.

Great Tumbles PebblePup! You hit a fabulous shine with those beauties, .... would expect the Petrified Wood to take a lot longer in the grind than the softer Jaspers? Cheers, Sparkles. I don't know about the pet wood and jasper in your area, but Bruneau is some of the hardest jasper I've come across, I don't think you'll find any pet wood anywhere that's harder than Bruneau Jasper.

All of these materials are very close in hardness. I do juggle some materials but I stopped keeping track of that part. The reason I juggle is due to the sorting I do when I check my barrels. Some of the material is ready for the next step and some is not. I leave that material that is not ready and add more to it and start it again. I normally have a barrel going in each stage so I can keep moving material to each stage. If I don't have enough material for a full barrel or have to much I store the material until I have enough room or material.

Thanks for the update PebblePup, I always find interest in the different approaches we all have to our tumbling, and the fantastic results you've achieved are well worth paying attention to! Thanks!
I'm afraid the last batch of Petrified Wood that I polished was from South Africa and it is the hardest rock I've ever worked, I had a batch of 8+ on Mohs scale from Arizona too, they were so hard I've all but given up on shaping them in the tumbler, I can't afford the carbide it's going to take to do the job! ;D he he he!
Cheers,
Sparkles.
