Hmmmm I paid $9500 for my 25 ft trailer in 2000 (it was a 1994) I bought my 32 footer new in 02 (at the end of the season) and I paid like $19,000 (before trade- they gave me $6500 in trade and sold my trade the next spring for $6800) The trailers at the campground were going for $3000 grand on up- but we went there this past weekend (we got our seasonal site!) and they were all either sold or gone! If the trailer has been there for a bit I would wait till a Wednesday (especially if it is raining) and make them an offer- Sales are always slow on Wednesdays- and if it's raining they are even worse (I have bought all my trailers in the rain!) Plus we are getting to the end of the season- so they sure don't want to sit on it for the winter!

Get Air- It's worth it- especially on those hot sunny days cause once the sun heats thru the roof the camper becomes a little OVEN- I only use my air like 3 or 4 times a season- but it is brutal without it- Meyers is a pretty good dealership (we have 3 or 4 around here) but very un-willing to dicker on price- I have a friend who got here latest trailer from them- First time out they had problems and Meyers sent a van full of parts and technecians to try to fix the problem- (actually turned out the wiring was done wrong and they hapd to tow it in and re-wire it-) but it was all warrenty work- Oh and if they try to sell you an extended warrenty think about it- We bought one with our first trailer- Dang shower sprang a leak In the drain and had to be replaced- THe warrenty cost us like $500 bucks- they new shower and install came to just over $1100- we paid NOTHING on it- So we came out ahead (first time for me!) Our current trailer came with a 3 year warrenty (just expired) and we thought our fridge had died- went to look at replacements- $1200 freakin dollars (plus install) turns out I never check to see if the trailer was level! Once I leveled it up the fridge started to work!

My first "trial run" was a 300 mile trip to the Adirondaks- Part way down a mountain I smelled brakes? ?? Got to the bottom and the trailer brakes were HOT- I let them cool off and ran the rest of the trip- Had em checked out when I got home and there was nothing wrong? I asked the guy about it and he told me sometimes the lock up when they have been sitting for a while- but usually will unlock when they cool off- Never had trouble after that. Congrates on the new digs!

Preped- is when they go through and make sure everything is working and that it is winterized (if they are gonna do that) and all spic and span clean- (make shure the cheap bastards fill the propane tanks!) they like to make sure the battery is charged up and the lights are all working ect ect. also if your state requires an inspection they should do that also- then they will give you a run thru (show you how everything works) TAKE NOTES- cause you will forget when you go to use it for the first time!

that looks like a super unit, Sands, hope it is all you need. the thing you REALLY want to learn and take notes on is the septic...how to hook up and dump. and the propane.
i miss you on the board, Sands, hope you get to a good place along the way so you can post now and again.
good luck,
KD

Good unit John! Yea the electric gas thing is a bit tricky to learn- The way my fridge works is that it works on electric but will switch to gas (less effecient) if electric is not available- or if I manually switch it. The hot water tank is electric unless I switch it to gas (it has an aotu ignite which is always nice in the rain!) My AC is Electric only (I think all of them are) and my Heater is Gas only but does have a 12 volt backup blower so I can heat the trailer with out electric. The septic is usually pretty easy to handle- Always make sure to fill the blackwater (sewage) tank at least 3/4 full before dumping (on average my family of 4 will fill it about 1/4 full on a weekend) so before you dump run a lot of water into it- It keeps the solids from building up (this happened to me once- it was not a fun job to clean it out!) Whaen you go to dump ALWAYS dump the blackwater first- then dump your greywater (shower and sink). I use a chemical called TST (total sanitation treatment) I get the liquid at the local wallyworld) I always add a couple gallons of water after dumping then add the TST- - If it is really hot out I will add another charge when we start the weekend also- I add it to both tanks- What you will usually find it that the Blackwater smells a lot less than the greywater- Oh and always clean out your dump hose when finished!

Wahhhh got there too late. It says "this unit is unavailable" so I can't see your new home Sands. Take a picture when you can and send it to me.
Don't worry about getting there faster, take time to stop and smell the roses. Life goes by far too fast anyway so you need to stop and look around now and then.
Take care ... sure do miss you on the forum. Are you checking into the satelite hookup for internet or anything like that?
