Hello Everyone, My name is Joanne and I've been reading for some time now. I'm new to tumbling and cabbing but am totally hooked! I've been fascinated by rocks and artifacts for many years and about 6 months ago, I found a great new park nearby in Delaware County, PA. After doing some research on the park, I discovered that it goes right into an area that is known for collecting. I have been having the best time discovering the sunstone, moonstone and amazonite combined feldspars and quartzes. So many others that I'm just beginning to grasp. Then I looked more closely at those that I collected over the years, Wow! I picked up a sapphire somewhere way back.
My first attempts to cab were some green and peach sunstone with moonstone running through. I got a cheap HF tumbler that had problems right off the bat, but I tightened up a few things and limped through a polish. Ugh! Sent it back pronto and finished them with my Dremel. But, rumor has it that Santa might slip a Lot-o under the tree, so I may be back in business. ;D I finished up a few stones from that batch and managed to make four pendants using Art Clay Silver. That was fun! Expensive, though. Think I'm gonna try some wire next! ;)Woo-hoo.
Love reading this forum. You're all a bit crazy. I'll probably fit in.
Jo

Thanks! Good to hear since my boots usually have tons of mud stuck to them this time of year. My fingers are kinda itching to get into some crazy wirewraps and see what happens. Seems like patience is key in this hobby... Good to be here. Jo
