I got a Gryphon bandsaw from JSGems, is a nice little saw and very easy to use. I hear it will cut circles around the DB-100, no pun intended. I have mine set up in the spare bedroom and it makes very little mess.

we had the inland.....don't buy it. it didn't do anything they said it would. john was at the last show with us and i tried out the gryphon and was very impressed with it. I could even cut tight turns with it. I was seriously thinking of buying it , but ralph wants one that did something else, i can'remember lol I will ask him when he gets home tonight.

Thanks all !! i think i'll pass on the inland . thanks for your help the sale ends soon , i did not want to make a stupid buy just to save a few $$ . any way i shouldn't spend the $200 right now . this gives me time to save $ & look into the gryphon later . then i'll need a grinder/polisher LOL ---------------------------paul ----------i'm hooked !!

I also bought a Gryphon from John. It is a well made machine, but slow going through hard material. The buying experience through jsgems was great, but the bandsaw was less than I hoped for. If you are cutting straight, buy something else. I found the band slow, and if you push it, it starts to bend and cuts angled. Originally tried it with 5/16" slabs, I cut the slabs thinner with marginally better results. I was hoping for something to cut hearts, maybe out of 1" material, but it would never do that. I tried dressing the blade with an old carborundum wheel, with minimal improvement. Mine is collecting dust on the bench.
