I saw his new wet suit in the other thread! I thought maybe he was gearing up for a little Jade hunting with Tony. ;D It looks like he's enjoying the new toy...and I sure envy that sunny warmer weather you guys are enjoying. Show us the Woods when they are polished. How long does it take to get a polish from start to finish?? Steve

That wood is beautiful. The second to last and the last pic show lines in the wood. Is that from the saw or is that the rings found normally in a tree trunk? Just wondering if the rings are ever descernable once wood ends up petrified.

Oh, you already posted some results! Thanks! The colors are amazing! WTG Ralph, good job!
Lori, sometimes not only the growth rings are descernable in pet wood, but the whole wooden structure up to the tiniest vessels (channels).

those are not saw marks, i didn't cut any of them yet. heres a pic of the first one done. its hard to get a good pic of the shine. if you look in the second pic you can see the reflection on my screen door in the upper part of the rock. it look him about an hr. from start to finish. Its so beautiful.
