Those are cool..., shame they weren't thick enough to polish.. I bet they would of looked even more insane! Great pics!

What about in a vibe? I ask because when I was at the Opal Hill mine years ago Nancy laughed at me for not keeping the thin material like that.
If you peeled it off the matrix might it surface polish in a vibe tumbler and bring some of the fire out?

Hmmm, couldn't the top be polished using an airgun and AO and keep it's shape?

How about a rough buffing cloth? it would look so cool without the glazing on the surface

I've read some stuff about fire agate that suggests careful tumbling as a method of choice.

Puppie, tumbling works pretty well when the fire is in a more massive piece of agate, but thin crust pieces like this are not so well suited to that treatment.
I have to imagine that there would be some really awesome potential cabs in there if one were to dare to cut this piece up, but I sure wouldn't be the guy to try.
No I'd set that one aside as is, you don't find many pieces like that with all that color showing in the natural state.

I have thought about cutting it I don't think I will. I have another piece without the outside crust when I find it again I'll try cutting it there's more agate filling the pockets on that one.
I think it's from CA but I don't know.
