Well I posted here, when I first joined the board asking for help. I put it in the competition section, probably in error. Well it is impossible for me to pick a winner,so I am declaring this a tie.
I was asking for help making an interlocking, or some kind of cabs for Tony and I to have that would match. I had posted when I had only made 3 cabs and was frustrated and thought I would not be trying again. This board helped to encourage me so much, that I am still plugging away at it.
The first 2 people to respond, well only 2 people , were BuiltonRock (John), and Steveholmes. Through this process, I gained not only beautiful cabs, but two of the nicest friendships which I value more than any rock. I have enjoyed many discussions with both about, God, family, kids, life, relationships, fun, etc. They both have a heart of gold, and I am truly touched by their generous hearts and the toil and thought they put into making something for Tony and I that we will treasure for a lifetime. Tony will not see these until Christmas morning, but Paul wanted me to have a winner, I think the real winner is me, but these 2 guys are winners, in every way, and I am proud to call them my friends.
From BuiltonRock:
I am sorry about the bad photos, but I know you have seen these cabs posted by John, and the pictures do not do them justice. The Royal Savannah Jaspers are just beautiful in person, the cinch mounts are mookite? I think that is what John said, and he even sent me that snazzy pink onyx, which I really love. I know Tony will like these, and I sure do. I think Tony is going to really appreciate seeing other people's craftsmanship in person. John explained that the cinch mounted ones, are like the one stone cut in half, so they are the front and back of the stone. Hopefully he will comment further, but I LOVE THEM!!!!
These are from STEVE:
This heart is so cool, and I know the picture doesn't do it justice, the material is frogskin jasper, since Tony likes green, the heart is like 3-dimensional, almost puffy-like??, and so smooth, and then the separate pieces can be worn by us. Very clever and well designed, I LOVE THIS TOO!!
He also sent me the following preforms, for me to make:
Now in addition to all of this, which totally blew me away, they sent even more stuff, which I will have photos of listed in the Member Photos section.
Again I want to thank John and Steve for helping me with this project, and I am sure Tony will be thanking you on 12/25. I know he will be surprised and impressed with both of your works.
Big hugs to both of you,
Amber
