Normally, I wouldn't post photos of a tumble until it is all done. But I am so psyched about this one, I decided to post some early pics, and then I'll follow up later.

I started with large chunks of Noreena jasper (from Riverbend Lapidary) and black jasper (from roughsale on eBay). I broke them up with a mini sledgehammer:

I tumbled the rough in a 3# Lortone barrel. Each round was 5 days with 60/90 SC and some ceramic pellets. After a few rounds, I started to pull out the nice ones. I ran about 8 rounds before I had enough to move on to medium (120/200 SC plus ceramic pellets).

Here are some photos of the material after the medium tumble:

I like the contrast of the black with the Noreena. I love the patterns in the Noreena. Here are some close ups (keep in mind these photos were taken indoor without proper lighting):

I started them today on a 10 day pre-polish with 500 SC and plastic pellets. After that, it will be 10 days with 1000 AO, then 2 weeks with CO polish, and then a few hours of burnish. I can't wait to see how they turn out! Expect a follow-up in about 5 weeks...

I've got a slab of Noreena jasper, it tends to fracture but polishes up real nice. The fire inside is sweeeeet.
