Of all the forums I belong to, this one has always been my very favorite. Not only because of the rock related topics, but because of the super-friendly members, the great photos, and the feeling that when you join this forum, you have also inherited an extended family.
With the Christmas season approaching, I felt like it just might be my turn to give something back to “my family” in appreciation for all the great hours spent reading the posts on the forum. So, I have decided to hold a “Twelve Days of Christmas” contest, where for the next twelve days (ending on the day before Christmas) I am going to give away a different pendant, freeform, necklace, or whatever to the winner of the day. Some winners may have to answer a question related to the prize, or I will set up some other simple way to select that day's winner. I want to make it fair so that even the newbies have a chance to win.
The prizes will be varied, some that I pulled from my websites, some that I had in surplus, but all representing different rock related materials and fossil jewelry. I sometimes electroform(gold plate) my pendants (and for other customers) in 18kt. gold, so you may see this on some of the prizes. I will save the very best prize for the last day. If no one gets the answer right at the end of the day, I will select a winner based on a pre-determined number (e.g. 3rd, 5th, or 6th responder). Even if a winning answer comes in right away, I will wait until the end of the day to announce the winner, so more people will be encouraged to enter an answer. A member can only win one prize in the contest, to give others a chance. Shipping (by ground, in the U.S.) or the least expensive air fare (for overseas) will be free, too. Each winner will just have to PM me with their mailing address.
So I hope you will stop by for the next 12 days and see if you can win the goodie of the day.
You guys are the greatest, and I sincerely hope that this Christmas season is the best yet and that next year will be the one where you find peace and prosperity, that mother load of agate, and even more friends on this unique forum.
Now… let’s have some fun…
This first prize is from something that fell to earth a long, long time ago. The first person who can tell me what it is made from takes it home.
It has an accent trim of heavily plated 18kt gold. The ring is gold-filled.
Ready...set....go!
