Caddo = East Texas Indian Tribe
Hadiku = Caddo Word For Black
Above is an explanation of a couple of the entries. I may get in trouble here and I certainly don't want to hurt any feelings or tick anyone off. I have already decided which entry I like best. So if the entry I like wins the popular vote, everything is cool. If another entry wins, there will be two winners. My favorite and the popular vote.
If this creates a problem of any kind for anyone, please let me know. The poll will be automatically locked at 12:18 PM next Sat.
Thank you everyone for entering! It's been fun!

Congratulations Bejewelme Amber! It is a superb name!
Thank you to all that entered and voted. If you didn't win this time, I'm sure I'll have something else to name sooner or later. Thanks for all the fun and once again, a fantastic name!

Congratulations, Amber! You were the deserving winner, not only because of the great name you came with but also because this way you will hate pet wood less than you did before - or maybe you will even love the wood ... sorry, the PETRIFIED wood. And, to add more poetry to your prize, here's a poem about the beauty of the pet wood, which I wrote in a very original contest organized by LadyBeabea about one and a half years ago (the best contest ever in my opinion): The Wooden Treasure I once was Tree. And I've been chosen Among my sisters’ hundred dozen To last over the countless years. Some people watch me with joy tears, They pick me like I'd be a treasure And both for me and them it's pleasure To have each other side by side. They are the groom, I am the bride. I am so colorfully dressed So you won't find two just the same And with the time that gently passed The more beautiful I became. I could name lots of my admirers But don't want anyone to hurt And just to keep this poem shorter I mention two: Adrian and Curt. Despite the awkwardnesses in this poem, I still hope it would lead you to love the pet wood, not to hate it even more Adrian

WOW Curt: I am so excited and so honored to receive your prize, who would have ever thought Indian knowledge from the recesses of my mind would be useful again! Thanks to all for the kind words, I promised I would share with Paul since he is a PA boy and it was a close race all the way! Adrian: What a beautiful poem, now I will have real petrified wood to look at and see if I change my mind! Tony cabbed the ghostwood and that was beautiful. Thanks Curt, you are a sugar dumplin!!!! Merry Christmas to all!!! Amber

Congrats sweetie.
Ah Kate's poetry contest, that was some fun. If you are new here in the last year you might want to go back and find those threads. There are about 50 poems written by members here as odes to rocks.
