Hello, everyone! Today I was at the post office to pick a box. I was expecting an envelope from Steve (Stevenholmes) who promised me a while ago he would send me some touristic brochures with the Moab area and the surroundings, which we intend to visit next summer. And that's what he did, only he wanted to be VERY sure the wind would not blow away that envelope with brochures. So he stuffed them into a flat rate box, together with a lot of great rocks ;D Take a look: The whole content: The gemmy area - really breath taking materials like his well known Dino bone slabs, a piece of Carnellian and two pieces of Royal Aztec purple agate: And the display specimens area, not less appreciated. Just have a look at those outstanding pet woods, coming from different parts of Western U.S. (Steve was also very kind and gave me the location where they come from). My favorite is ... well, all of them, but still if I'd have to pick one of them that would be the small one in the right side, having such nice colors and a great structure of the bark and of the inside AND the big red one ;D. And you can also see Steve sent me some provoking Dugway geodes, which I cannot wait to cut. Steve, I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity! Thank you also very much for your help and advices related to Moab area. Thank you all for looking and for making this place such a special one! Adrian

Maybe we can get you to prefer dino bone over wood? Great stuff.

That is a great suprise for you Adrian. Seems your secret Santa understands the heart of an RTH rockhound. Especially if secret Santa is also known as Steveholmes.

Don't blush, Steve! Be proud of your beautiful and generous character, as well as of the way you know to live your life like! Few people dare to do it these days (I'm thinkin' here at those wondereful adventurous trips you do; you must have a wonderful, understanding family to be able to do it). Daniel, with such generous persons like Steve, you, Tony, Harley and many others it's easy to switch me on dino bone. In fact, I find both of those materials so fascinating. I think they attract us humans not only by their beautiful look but also by the fact that they are the proof that evanescent beings are able somehow to defeat the endless ages. Oh, and Steve, the fact that I might not work immediately some of the slabs/rocks you sent me isn't a proof that I don't like them; by the contrary, I cherish them too much and wait a good idea/project to use them into. This is valid for all of you kind people who sent me rocks Adrian

Adrian I'm like you. When I get a piece I'm emotionally attached to I find it really hard to touch it to a saw or grinder.
