heres some of the rock ralph got polished before it got chilly out here. Hopefully he will be able to do more in a few days. my 2 favorite green ones another pretty my favorite red one And last look at this one, to me it looks like it was in a fire at one time or bugs ate it. Sure is a narly looking piece. ty for looking, we have more to come. ralph and mary ann p.s. if you want to see the weights i have it all in my flickr.

Fantastically Beautiful! Ralph is seriously putting that grinder to work. It looks like he knows what he's doing too. I guess this is much cheaper than a flat lap. Steve

Really pretty wood and a nice variety of colors and patterns. Is that green from Oregon? I've read that there is green wood from up there.

Nice variety of wood. Tony there is an area called Hampton Buttes, Oregon that has wonderful green wood. The pieces shown certainly do look like others I've seen come from that area. Map link here. And the "favorite red one" looks to me like Chinle' formation wood from Arizona or Utah.

Excellent specimens, you are a true artist! That's the way I like to work my pet woods too. Try to polish also a vertical area on some of them, especially if you find an already smooth lateral surface.
The red, the green and the "another pretty" are my favorites. Thje dome of the black one in the 2nd pic is outstanding.

ty all very much. he worked for 3 days on those. Hes really enjoying the grinder. Now he wants to polish everything he gets his hands on..... i have to keep moving lmao
